The demand for electonics and electrical engineers is growing amazingly fast which is well understood by this department. The department has dedicated and experienced faculty. The department is conscious of its responsibility in the changing techno-economic enviroment of the country. The rapid developments all over the world make it imperative that the teachers and working engineers be continuously exposed to the latest trends in technology so as to enable them to meet new challenges in teaching as well as practice.

Here particular attention is paid to continuing education not only for the teachers but also for all other categories of staff. This is important for providing career growth opportunities as well as to keep the staff abreast of the latest developments in various fields, thereby reducing complacency in their work environment, particularly in teaching.

The department caters to exposure in areas involving basic hardware design. The labs are equipped with 20MHz oscilloscopes, frequency generators, function generators, pulse generators, HIL digital ICs, Linear ICs and discrete components kits. The department also houses 40 advanced kits using various microprocessors.
