Guest Lecture on Parallel Processing organised by Tech IT Society on October 8, 2010

A guest lecture on “Latest Trends in Parallel Processing” concept was organised by Tech-IT society of IT Department in ACET, Amritsar on October 8, 2010. Dr. Pragya Jain, Computer Center IIT Delhi was the keynote speaker. She held an interactive session with the students of 3rd year & 4th year, and explained the concepts of parallel processing.

On her arrival to the college, she was given a floral welcome by the Head of IT Department Dr. Surjit Singh. The Guest Lecture was very well coordinated by Mrs. Neha Randhawa & Mr. Parambir Singh (Faculty Advisors of Tech-IT Society) & the student coordinator Ms Vibha Mahajan.

Dr. Pragya Jain explained the need for Parallel Processing in the current IT scenario and the job opportunities associated with it.

The lecture was attended by a large number of students & the faculty members. The lecture was highly appreciated by both the faculty members & students of the department. The talk was followed by fruitful discussion on the topic.

In the end Dr. Surjit Singh proposed a vote of thanks with a promise that the department will endeavour to conduct such lectures in future too.
